EXCITING NEW RUGBY CLUB COMING TO BRANSHOLME!

Exciting New Rugby Club Set to Kick Off in Bransholme, North Hull!

Bransholme, a vibrant community in North Hull, is gearing up for an exhilarating addition to its sporting landscape – a brand new rugby league club! With an area bursting with talent and passion for the game, it's time Bransholme had its own team to cheer for!

The launch event is set to take place on Saturday, April 27th, 2024, from 10 am to 11:30 am at the Lambwath Fields Play Area on Biggin Avenue, Kingston Upon Hull, HU7 4NG.

It's an occasion not to be missed, promising a morning filled with fun games, appearances from Hull KR and Hull FC players and mascots, and an opportunity to get involved by volunteering.

Neighbourhood Co-ordinator Joanne Nielsen of Hull City Council, along with the dedicated staff at Biggin Hill Primary School and the management team at COHDRL, have been pivotal in bringing this initiative to life!

Karl Beardshaw, Scotland and Hull KR Under 16s Coach, emphasised the significance of establishing a rugby club in Bransholme: "Bransholme is an area which needs a team. It's a large area, and some great rugby players have come from Bransholme in the past . The launch event is all about fun and inclusivity – we encourage all players regardless of age to come down and get involved, we also need volunteers to help make this new club a success, we really need a group of us pushing it”

Bransholme is a large region of Hull which is currently without a dedicated rugby club

In the weeks following the launch event, the club aims to hold sessions once a week, depending on the level of interest and participation from the community.

Rob Wilson (COHDRL Competition Coordinator), expressed his enthusiasm for the new club and extended gratitude to those who have supported its inception: "Myself, Sasch, and the rest of COHDRL are thrilled about the new club in Bransholme. With over 30,000 residents in the area, we see tremendous potential for this club to become a hub for children and teenagers to engage in rugby league. We are immensely grateful for the support of Joanne Nielsen, Jan Loft, and Garreth Byrne in making this vision a reality."

So mark your calendars, spread the word, and come join us for a fantastic morning of rugby league excitement as we kick off this thrilling new chapter in Bransholme's sporting journey. Let's make history together!
